Fuck Roadburn festival. Officially. They sold out. Hightlights of the line-up: Electric Wizard, Boris, Jesu, Church of Misery, Nadja, Witch, Acid Mothers Guru AND a whole day curated by David Tibet > Current 93, OM, a Sunn O))) side-project…
I hate you all.
Oh, and fuck archeology. If I pass, I become a practicing heathen pagan (sorry, BB). Runes and stuff. Idols.
Yesterday I went to the Historical Museum. It was loaded with secondary school field trips and what surprised was the amazing amount of full-fledged nazi kids.
Characteristics:
- scarf with a certain football-team + the words “proud Russian”, etc
- military cap
- badges with nazi symbols and attributes
- body odor
- suspicious glances at me (…yeah. I do speak with an accent)
- primitive facial expressions
That’s it. There were at least 5 of them, in two different classes. Maybe the classes are from the same school? No idea.
Back to my hopeless toil.

I’ve got a new favourite Flaming Lips song: Slow Nerve Action (youtube, great live performance from ‘99). Those drums, wow!! Heavy, heavy, heavy! I feel an urge to sample that drum-pattern and make an infinite loop out of it. Maybe I’ll do it.
And I can play this song on the guitar, yey! It’s not too complicated yet awesome.
Us, vegetables.
Today I overheard the best evvah convo on the street. Two guys:
“So, what caliber is that?”
“.38″
“Not bad, not bad, just what I need. How much?”
“12.000″
Hooray for creepy conversations!!
It’s about time to create a best albuns of the year list. I’ve already compiled one for radaladar, but I’m not satisfied with it. I just didn’t have enough time.

I’m actually enjoying the cheesy darkwave/gothic synthpop of Sopor Aeternus’ La Chambre d’Echo. Wow. It’s strange. I also grew to like the not so synthpop but very synth neo-classical stuff by him/her (hail transgender artists). AndI love Little Velveteen Knight… “Some monsters just cannot be slain” *cheesy synth organs join in*.
Even the shortest distances are long when you have to pee. AKA the worst 16 floors in the elevator.
I passed German. Hooray!!
The following sentence may or may not be true:
Pickled Punk will be an ABM/grind project.
If you don’t know what ABM is, you are not a true internet addict/freak.

If Arcade Fire is the slow Animal Collective without psychedelia, then A Silver Mt. Zion is the slowed down Neutral Milk Hotel without musical saw.
I’m tired.
But my sister’s coming tomorrow!!

Re-watching Fight Club is never a bad thing. Especially in good company.

Oranges. Oranges are tasty. Orange Goblin is a good band. Orange is a nice colour.
“NOTICE

BY ORDER OF THE AUTHOR,
Per G.G., Chief of Ordnance.”
This (from “Huckleberry Finn”) always scared me as a child. I loved the book, but I just couldn’t understand this notice. Damn your sense of humor, Mark Twain!
Now I’m not scared anymore. Now I agree. (:
(and it explains the nature of my music and art. Sorry. Not art, but Art. Capital letter. Bleeergh. I hate people who write art and love and life with capital letters)

Archeologyarcheologyarcheology. I’m busy learning archeology. Also, I nearly ended up with dreadlocks. I was sitting, reading a textbook and my hair was disturbing my learning process. So I, almost unintentionally, started weaving dreadlocks out of it. My hair’s too short and too clean to achieve real dreads, but sporadical bunches are possible. Now I have those. And it really helps when reading! Woohoo!
Yeah.
Listen to Ufomammut, they kick ass. youtube, youtube.
And Jesu. youtube.

By the way, I made a discovery in St Petersburg: Kees van Dongen is amazing! There are a few female portraits exhibited in the State Hermitage, including the one on the left.

I’m sorta busy studying archeology, but that doesn’t stop me from being totally hooked on the band Oxbow. Dadaist noise rock/metal, fronted by a bodybuilder with anger managment problems (usually dressed in his underwear)?? Fuck yeah!
Check out these two live videos:
The Geometry of Time
Down a Stair Backward
And an interview + live footage thing.
Today when I went out to the bathroom to have a shower, I discovered that there’s no cold water. I mean, how fucked up a place can get?? Usually there’s no hot water, but that’s sorta okay, you close your eyes, take a deep breath and shower with ice-cold water, groaning and mumbling “it’s healthy, it’s fuckin heeeeealthy!” to yourself.
But you can’t do this with boiling hot water…
