Ooookay, wikipedia is sometimes unintentionally obscene.

Wow, I never thought I would live to see the sentence “…the concept of autistic fetish hookers is certainly a rather unsettling one”! I found it in a review about a volume of NYX, an X-Men series.

the thunder, perfect mindfuck.

Dear neighbour, you listening to music in the morning is fine with me ( I do the same), but WHY, OH WHY?, SMOKE ON THE FUCKIN WATER?? I hate that song. It’s on the top of my “5 songs I would erase from the human mind for its own good” list (it includes at least three Queen songs as well).

Okay, I was intended to write more but forgot everything. See ya.

Ooh, ooh, listen to Aarni! Here’s their myspace. And here is, you know….. umm, you know what. Progressive funeral doom from Finland.

Okay, I found this band, Alamaailman Vasarat, who play klezmer metal (sorta)!! Yeah!! Aaaand, according to their myspace, they are coming to Sziget!! Give ‘em a try, they are really good.
also, they call themselves “the Finnish prophets of fictional world music”, which is -I think you all agree with me- major fun.

Klezmer metal

March 11, 2008

Wow, I ended up with a very strange chart for last week (according to my last.fm profile):

So basically it’s Zorn-released avant-klezmer on top, followed by French black metal, Dutch goregrind, my beloved Dead Raven Choir (black folk noise or some shit like that), more raw black metal, my own Eat Rust (I really dig my black metal songs, see previous post), classic black metal (Bathory’s s/t album is very good), dronish dark folk, PJ Harvey, and Shrum, psychedelic death metal with two bass guitarists (one being from Acid Bath).

And all this leads me to
KLEZMER METAL!!

The world lacks good klezmer metal. I mean, I’m not sure it’s needed… but damn it. I composed some under the moniker Bavarians of Bohemia. The song title is very original, I know… First I wanted to name it “Ancient Traditions: Cut it Off!!” but changed my mind.

Everyone can do the black metal so why can’t I? Yeah!! Freedom for the masses. If you are not 100% satisfied with the music others created, make your own!!
Here’s my take on raw urban pagan black metal.

Long time, no post. And I’m sorry. I’m a bit behind my life, I had better things to do. You know the drill.
OKKKKAY, I admit, I was to busy downloading raw black metal albums. The French Les Légiones Noires scene is fuckin’ amazing. Belketre is my favourite, probably.
Vlad Tepes/Belketre split
I’m aware that listening to this album is kinda… Ummm… But at least they are not Nazis. Only pagans and antichristians. Trve frostbitten kvlt & grim black metal. Did I get all the characteristics right? What matters is that they play extremly abrasive lo-fi black metal.

(Belketre – Night of Sadness)

For the ones who understand the mighty Hungarian language:
“bőrgatyában fasz feláll / nincs jobb mint a blekkmetál”
Ildjarn - Forest Poetry
Ildjarn is good too.

What else…

Yeah, my department was moved to a new building. It sucks, yey!! No place to eat, no place to sit down, the whole thing’s half-finished. It’s far from the metro station. The classrooms have fucked up acoustics. Echo-echo-ECHO-ECHO-ECHO-HO-ho-ho-ho-ho!.. Okay, there are some positive sides: the furniture is new and pretty decent.

That’s all, folks. Might get back to (almost) regular posting.
